Malmö University is Sweden’s eighth largest university with about 26,000 students, 100 programmes and 500 courses. 31% of Malmö’s population (16-65) have tertiary education. The corresponding figure for Sweden as a whole is 25% (2013).
- Malmö has four schools where the language of instruction is English. Two of these are primary schools and two secondary schools. Three of the schools are local and non fee-paying, while the fourth receives state aid and thus has the right to charge a student fee.
- Malmö also has a number of special colleges such as the World Maritime University (WMU). WMU is an organisation run by and for the international maritime community. Established by an IMO Assembly Resolution, its basic aim is to further enhance the objectives and goals of IMO and IMO member states around the world.
