IBM opens new development center in Skåne, Sweden

Recruitment of 300 new positions to give Nordic clients enhanced services and support. IBM (NYSE:IBM) today announced that a new Client Innovation Center will be established in Sweden, to deliver an industry leading range of technology services to IBM clients based in the Nordic region. The center will be based in Malmö in the southernmost part of Sweden called Skåne, and create up to 300 new IT roles.

IBM (NYSE:IBM) today announced that a new Client Innovation Center will be established in Sweden, to deliver an industry leading range of technology services to IBM clients based in the Nordic region. The center will be based in Malmö and create up to 300 new IT roles.

The new IBM Client Innovation Center will focus on high value application development and maintenance, test and systems management services that address the increasing demand for flexible software capability. These services will help Nordic based businesses harness the benefits of Cloud, Big Data Analytics, Mobile, Social and Security technologies.

Local presence and global competence

The center will offer IBM’s Nordic clients’ locally-based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology, and provide geographic proximity while working in tandem with IBM’s globally integrated capability network.

The IBM Client Innovation Center in Malmö joins IBM’s globally integrated capability network which delivers deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients in Europe and around the world.

The recruitment to the new services will start during the autumn in collaboration with regional universities and educational institutions.

The new IBM Client Innovation Center in Malmö will be a wholly owned subsidiary of IBM.
