Skanska and Malmö City will start construction of the modern new “kubiklager” in Malmö Industrial Park on Friday 11 November.
”I am delighted that as the first actor in Malmö Industrial Park, Skanska is getting started on its kubiklager, which will also be the first logistics property in the area to be occupied, in autumn 2017. The establishment is an important part of the industrial park’s development and represents new job opportunities,“ says Håkan Thulin, Head of Development at Malmö city Council.
Malmö Industrial Park will be fully developed in about ten years, by which time the area will encompass almost 900,000 square metres and be the base for a large number of companies which will have made Malmö the hub for their operations in Northern Europe.
”The development of Malmö Industrial Park is taking place in close collaboration with CMP (Copenhagen Malmo Port) and the companies that establish themselves in the area will contribute to strengthening the port’s operations and contribute to increasing the volume of freight through the quays”, Håkan Thulin says.
Northern Harbour’s strategic location and development are creating excellent prospects for the region and parts of Scandinavia’s trade and industry.
“Kubiklager, which we are building in Northern Harbour, will offer the market efficient logistics premises on modern and flexible terms in the best location directly adjacent to the port area and the rail network. Malmö City is investing heavily in the infrastructure, which will further increase accessibility to road, rail and sea transports”, says Henrik Ahnström, business area manager at Skanska.
The media and municipal and business representatives have been invited to the ceremony.
Time: Friday 11 November 2016, 11.30.
Venue: Utögatan 3, Malmö City
Registration takes place on site to Britt-Marie Wennerlöf or by email, firstname.lastname@example.org
Malmö Industrial Park, Northern Harbour
Malmö Industrial Park is the expansive new industrial estate in Southern Sweden. Companies within manufacturing, processing and distribution are offered centrally located industrial land here. In addition, the sites are located directly adjacent to CMP’s facilities (Copenhagen Malmo Port), where rail, road and sea traffic are linked together and the trimodal logistics solutions are well developed.
The property being developed and built by Skanska comprises approximately 19,500 sqm of warehousing with associated offices and is located directly adjacent to CMP. The project will be ready for occupation in autumn 2017.
